I play several characters in the game that happen to be ghosts. Should you wish to play a ghost that is fine, so long as these basic rules are complied with.
1. Ghosts are invisible unless they choose to show themselves.
2. Ghosts may appear in person, or in dreams. They may also have control over a person's particular dream, but not control the dreamer. They may also arrange for a character to have a dream about them.
3. Ghosts may impact the environment locally, changing weather around a particular character or group of characters. The living characters do not necessarily suspect that the change is caused by the spirit.
4. Ghosts may impact objects around them. They may throw them, or take them, or break them, whatever the spirit wants. If a living person is in the presence of such activity, they would see the object(s) being treated as such, but unless the spirit has chosen to show themselves, they would not see the spirit himself.
5. Even if a ghost is invisible, they can still make their presence known by creating certain feelings for the living character to feel, such as calmness, sadness, joy, fear, anger, etc.
6. A spirit may converse openly with a living character. If a spirit decides to make their presence known by speaking, or showing themselves, they are heard or seen by the particular character being addressed. If the spirit shows themselves to a character in a group of people, all of them see and hear the character. Unless it is a murdered spirit, the living automatically assume it is a person just like them, except by those who know the spirit is dead.
7. The Spirit Groups vary based on how they died. There are three groups of spirits: Pure, Earthbound, and Murdered. Pure Spirits died of natural causes: accidents, medical issues, old age, etc. Earthbound Spirits are the spirits of those who died of their own accord: all forms of suicide. Murdered Spirits are the spirits of those who have, as the name implies, been murdered.
8. Murdered spirits are earthbound until the yearly anniversary of their death. If they are still earthbound after that it is because they choose not to cross over. They are still given a chance to cross over on the anniversary of the day they died. If they choose to cross over they are no longer earthbound and they become Pure Spirits. If the murdered spirit's killers are brought to justice, however, they automatically become Pure Spirits whether it is the anniversary or not.
9. Earthbound Spirits (those who have killed themselves) must wait until they find peace before they have the opportunity to cross over and become Pure Spirits. This varies with the individual spirit.
10. Earthbound and Murdered spirits who are still earthbound retain the same appearance they did when they died.
11. Ghosts can take a willing person anywhere, under the sea, to the Arctic, the Sahara, whatever, and the person does not feel the weather, nor do they need to worry about mortality, as long as they are with the spirit.
12. Ghosts know about all events, pas, present and future. However, the future is not certain, it can change. If a ghost predicts a terrible fate for a character, it may or may not happen, depending on the writer's intentions.
13. Pure Spirits may return to earth and interact with the living whenever they wish. They are free to come and go to and from Paradise and earth as they please.
14. Ghost characters may be able to read another character's thoughs, so long as they're with them.
