Anyone have any interesting rumors about next season? Everyone's continuing to skate, pretty much, right?

I heard that Hae Young Choi is undecided about whether or not she'll skate next year. I hear she's having a kid. If you ask me that arogant witch should quit while she's ahead. I mean, she's 24! Come ON! Retire already! She SO stole that gold away from the TRUE Americans out there.

Having a kid? With who? You're pretty mean... she came from a country where she has no rights to the USA where she does, and she competes for the USA. Get over it.

Some Korean dude. I see they're gonna be on Oprah soon to talk about communism and shit and what they didn't have there that they do here.
I have no problem with immigrants training here, but she steals America's precious spots, we should have had 3 Americans on that team this year for the Olympics, not 2 Americans and a defector. That's not fair to the people born here who train their whole lives for this. But Congress is a puppet, writing to them doesn't work; I tried.

Well, it's a feel good story I guess. And she's an American OGM whether you like it or not, thus all the attention! I think it's funny all the OGMs got all that attention after the Olympics, on American TV at least with Hae Young then the Brits and poor Christian who looked like he wanted to die of embarrassment at every interview.

Oh I know! I was so happy Chris won both disciplines even though I was rooting for Williams & Lovell. But I'm glad SOMEONE put that Russian punk Potem-whatshisface where he belongs - OFF THE PODIUM!

Aww hey! Zhenya just had a bad day. You're just one happy ball of sunshine aren't you? Christian isn't American, nor is Alice, why do you like them?! They're about as Scottish as haggis, or whatever... though Alice has confessed if she was an American she'd be a member of the Republican Party, maybe that's why you like them.

Actually I like them because they're actually great skaters who place high above the robotic Russians AND THEIR HYBRID TEAM RABATIN & JIDKOV! They should work on their UNISON, not on that throw triple Axel. When you're a truly great team, you don't NEED that stuff. Granted, Alice and Chris have the quad, but they have the artistry to make up for it.

I do agree the others ought to work on their artistry... I think Alice and Christian are good at that simply because they've been together so long, and are so obviously, uhh, into each other. (They're in a relationship, right? I'm not entirely sure.) The others should take artistry lessons from them, or something, though I do think sometimes O&D are a bit boring and R&J more exciting.

Why the hatred about Hae Ye? Poor dear nearly DIED trying to get here in the first place. You have no tact whatsoever, USARox.
It's true she's pregnant by the way! She got pregnant in May. So she is taking a year or so off to have the baby and take care of him/her. She and Soo (that's her husband's name, Soo Hwa Kangta) have already decided, if the baby is a boy, they're going to name him after Soo's grandfather, who died before Soo and his family were rescued. This is an interesting departure from Korean culture, since people usually don't name people after people on purpose like they do here in the West.
The Kingstons are okay, they need better musical selection than last year's though! Their technique is interesting though.
I was so happy for Chris becoming a 2-time Olympic Champion, but he just got lucky, as sad as it is to admit. After the Olympic Silver, you'd think Evgeny would have been his usual spectacular self... just didn't happen. I have to say I was rather intrigued by Ugarov... Awesome long program! Who else thinks he was just a tad undermarked? I mean I'm all for Tim Lovell, but there was that stumble on the triple loop coming out of that hydroblade. Course the commentators in the US were gushing so much over him, it was hard to notice unless you muted the video and look really closely at it.

Weird about the Kingstons since in 2003 O&D left the UK for training reasons. Maybe England is better than Scotland, since I know they trained in Edinburgh, and also places in England--Coventry and Nottingham at the National Ice Center.
Kelly McKay is blah. She's young, energetic, but she moves like a robot!!!!
Re: the Olympics. I kind of wanted Timofei to win, but I think he was just burnt out after pairs. I don't know how Christian kept himself together, it was truly one of those bizarre out-of-your-seats performance since I totally thought he too would have a splatfest, since he and Timofei looked totally exhausted (except he didn't look terrified like Timofei does... Tim always looks nervous, I wonder why?)
We've got a lot of youngsters coming up. Anastasia Yurchikova I think will be dominant in ladies now that Hae Young is out for the season, but we'll see, maybe she'll still have her old consistency problems. I'm so sick of seeing her fall fall fall and being unable to enjoy her program since SHE looks so beat up and disappointed in herself with inth efirst 30 seconds of every program it seems!!!

So I heard Alice & Christian are getting coached now by Natalia Romanova. Whoa. That will be interesting. Aren't they friends with all of the pairs Natalia coaches?!

Wow, what juicy gossip!!!!! You really think they'll train with her for very long? Coaching two world-class teams especially with such a rivalry as these two have, that's hard to handle... but then again, Natalya is a pretty tough old bird. Not that she's OLD old, but you know what I mean! Hell, if anyone can pull it off, she can!
Natasha only coaches R&J that I know of... I know Ugarov coaches W&L.

I went to the rink today, and I saw R&J and then O&D work on choreography and element placement in their LPs. R&J are, as always, being very original - their music from The Lady in the Water. O&D are going with Romeo and Juliet, by Prokofiev AND from Rota's film score. Blech.
