What did Zhenya do? Was it just his mannerisms? I met a lot of the skaters by taking my kids backstage (we got passes from a kind soul at the Los Angeles stop!), and most people were pretty nice, Zhenya included who took a photo with my daughter and son and signed a personal message to them on their little tour books! They were thrilled.
I met O&D and while Alice was sweet, charming and very talkative Christian seemed like an ass. He didn't say much, looked unimpressed, and just stayed away. The only things he said were to my kids. He avoided a lot of the teenage girls, in fact most people if they weren't children like he was afraid of them or something.
Anastasia Yurchikova seemed hurried, smiled at everyone, said hellos, thanked people, signed autographs - didn't stay long with anyone while a lot of the other skaters at least tried to, like Hae Young who seemed a lot more modest and less "diva-ish" than Anastasia who just has this...attitude. Hae Young took photos with everyne while Anastasia refused!!!
Nikita Davies I did not have the "pleasure" of meeting, heh. I'm glad I didn't. I'm pretty sure he IS gay. I honestly think most of them are, except Zhenya, and I'm pretty sure Christian isn't--the way he looks at Alice is pretty obvious he's infatuated with her.
My little boy talked a bit to Danil who seemed very shy, but not rude like Christian was. I had no problem with him...

I had met Hae Ye Choi many times when I lived in Korea with my family. The first time I met her she was just 14 years old! She was always so shy and down-to-earth, even after she won. She asked questions about who we were, how we were doing, etc. She made my family and I feel like we were as deserving of attention as she was!
About ten years ago I also met young Potemerenko and got his autograph at the 1996 Junior World Championships. I told him how much I enjoyed watching his skating. Unfortunately all he said to me was "Thanks, sorry I don't speak English." So that was that, sadly.
I met Alice and Chris this past month, they were wonderful! Well, Chris didn't say much but he had this nice smile on his face. Meanwhile Alice, as they say, "gabbed" like crazy to me! She and Hae Ye were the nicest female personalities I met.
Alexander Dupont, I met him at Worlds 04 when he won. He's such a joy to be around! He's gracious and sweet! he asked me about my thoughts on his performances, what I liked best and what I did not like so much. Not that I have anything bad to say about his skating! Except for- ok, just kidding!
I met Anastasia last year, she was actually quite nice and energetic to me. Of course we were out on the street, not during anything skating-related so that might be why. Maybe she's just entirely focused on skating under those circumstances.
I've met a few other skaters, but I will write more later!

I happened to meet some of the skaters at the Olympics as I was interning for NBC and did some stuff for Olympic Ice. I got tickets to all the events, it was pretty darn exciting! Pairs is my favorite discipline so you betcha I talked to all of them, except O&D who were swarmed by people and I figured they didn't need one more person talking to them. They both looked supremely exhausted. (Though I did talk to Christian once, after he won gold, he looked so frazzled and confused about why people wanted to talk to him without his partner around, it was kinda cute in a sad way. He smiled, thanked me, and said I could take the gold medal off his hands if I wanted to. I was like, "No way!" and he was all, "Too bad." and he seemed serious, like he was ashamed about it or something... It was kinda weird. He's even taller than I thought he was and even better-looking in reality, and Alice is so tiny.)
I liked talking to Angela - she was really nice, and a lot of fun. She didn't seem so tired like everyone else did. Arseniy was leering at me, I know it! I should have leered back, he's soooo cute. Tima and Brandi were both very nice and excited, happy to be at their first Olympics.
I really liked Aleksei Ugarov, he seemed surprised that anyone would want to talk to him. I caught him after the pairs SP, since he obviously coaches W&L. He was pretty nice and was all into telling me about "how it was" with the USSR and all that and how his skating sucked and stuff. I got an autograph from Zhenya but he looked tired and I didn't bother him. He seemed so bummed!
I've never met Sasha Dupont, I wish I did, I loved his skating... I talked to Danil briefly. I couldn't gauge much of his personality though, sorry.
Hae Ye was very nice to me and signed all kinds of stuff when she came in to be on the show. She even signed my hand, as I jokingly asked her after she'd signed my jacket and all kinds of junk! It was funny. She was laughing about it and seemed soooo happy, it was really nice to see her looking so happy and chilled out!
Anastasia was kind of a diva. She seems like a snob. Angela Prochazka was thrilled to pieces about her medal and seemed nice, a bit shy, but nice enough--talked to me a bit. She's so pretty.
I got to meet people like Scott Hamilton, Katarina Witt, LOL. That was nifty. And Dick Button was so nice to me!

Great experiences! It's so nice that Hae Ye signed so many things for you!
Dick is a pervert I think. I remember at the European Championships one year he asked Ekaterina Valerova if he could pinch her cheeks! She allowed him to, but I can't say I would have done the same! That's just too weird!
Rest in peace Katya.
