Real Name (first name only will do): Alex
AIM Screenname (optional): banaili3
Character's Full Name: Linda Margaret Bellucci
Nickname: Linda
Date of Birth: May 11th, 1987 (Age 21)
Place of Birth: San Francisco, California
Appearance (provide either a description or photograph):
Character Model: Genevieve Cortese
Personality: Linda, especially when she was younger, was a very strong-willed, hard-shelled young woman. She liked to play hard to get and enjoyed the attention of others. While she was capable of compassion, much of the time, her compassion was a mask for her true motives. (For example, she was usually only "nice" to the less-liked students in her class, if and only if they were boys she could flirt with. There was, however, one exception.) Since she has matured, her personality traits have matured with her, yet she is still as shallow on the outside as she was when she was younger. She knows she is pretty and feels she can get any man she wants. She is also usually dating someone and is still made jealous easily. The worst personality trait that lingers, however, is that it is tough for her to choose between friendship and popularity.
Yet, while all of these are Linda's strongest traits, deep down, she wants a relationship where she can be respected from her partner and just be herself. Oftentimes, she finds herself in a relationship with a guy who likes her solely for her looks. Though she won't admit it to herself, what she really wants is a boyfriend who can appreciate her witty, caring, and humorous sides.
Occupation: Graduate School for Law
Biography: Linda grew up in San Francisco to a upper middle-class/lower upper-class Italian family. Both of her parents had high-paying professions, and Linda was able to live a comfortable life all her life. In school, she was popular (if only for her wealth and beauty) and was constantly flocked to by boys and girls alike. When she was 13, she started going out with the most famous boy in the high school--Geoffrey Harpes, a boy three years older than her and the school's heart-throb. The same year, she secretly became friends with one of the school's only Chinese students, Nicholas Wu. Nicholas was always quiet in class (though he was reknown for his high test scores) and was constantly picked on for his nationality. Yet, secretly, Linda felt a sort of attraction to him--perhaps it was because he was so different. But for some reason, she liked him a lot. She just couldn't let anyone else know about it. To protect her status as "queen bee" in the school, Linda decided to stay dating Geoffrey. But secretly in class, Linda would do little things to let Nicholas know that she was his "friend." Oftentimes, the two met up afterschool.
One day, Linda brought Geoffrey to her locker. When she opened it, a note from Nicholas fell out. Before she could stoop for the letter, Geoffrey had picked it up and begun to read it.
"Dear Linda," the note read. "Thank you yesterday for very good day. I really like seeing you again. Please, let's try to go out another time. Love, Nicholas."
Geoffrey was furious. Linda had tried to cover up her tracks. "Oh, he's just some kid in my class. One of the quiet Chinese kids, you know? He's just like all the other boys, always following me around."
But Geoffrey didn't seem to find this to be a good enough answer. "Did you go out with him?" he had asked furiously.
Linda shrugged. "Just the once. He kept begging me, so I just let him. He's just like all the other geeks in my class. They're just jealous of how lucky you are, Jeff...how attractive."
But no matter what she said, Geoffrey was still angry. From the day on, he began to develop a plan--a way to get back at the "Little Ch*nk boy" who had tried to steal his girlfriend. He wanted to teach Nicholas that someone of his nationality--of his social status--could never be with a girl like Linda. Of course, he was also infuriated by the fact that a Chinese boy had been able to take his girlfriend.
It wasn't too long before he had come up with the perfect plan. And Linda was pivotal in it. Geoffrey had asked Linda to lure Nicholas into a trap--to take him somewhere alone with just her--and where Geoffrey and his friends would all be hiding and waiting. At the right time, they would all jump out and teach the Chinese boy a lesson.
Linda didn't want any part in the plan, but she knew that if she wanted to stay with Geoffrey--and if she wanted to keep her position in the school--she would have to do as Geoffrey asked. Plus, she had the feeling Geoffrey was testing her. To see if she really did like "the Ch*nk." At the same time, she didn't want to hurt Nicholas, but at the age of 13, it seemed power had more of an effect over her than love.
So, on a day when she knew he would least expect it--his birthday, Linda walked Nicholas back to his apartment building, though she led him to a secluded part of the vast parking lot. She told him that she really liked him and led him into a passionate kiss. Though she wanted to enjoy that kiss, her heart was breaking inside, because she knew that she had just set the Chinese boy's fate.
When Geoffrey jumped out, he began pummeling Nicholas. He beat the boy to what Linda was sure was an inch away from killing him. The whole time, Linda did not look at Nicholas--except once. She could hear his screaming, and that alone was enough. When she did look, the worst part had been the look of fear and betrayal on his face when he'd looked at her, something that had caused Geoffrey to pummel him even more.
By the time Geoffrey was done with him, there was blood everywhere, and Linda was crying. A car had been pulling into the lot, and Geoffrey and his friends were sure the driver would see Nicholas. Geoffrey had grabbed her hand and had pulled her away. Linda never looked back. She knew...they'd left Nicholas there for dead.
After that incident, Nicholas did not return to school. Geoffrey bragged that his strength alone had scared "the Ch*nk" away. News spread around the school that Nicholas had become disabled, that he was too scared to come back to school and was being taught at home now. Some even said he had died. But it seemed everyone in the school knew what had happened to him. Geoffrey had been sure of that.
For several months, Linda did not know what had become of the boy she had sacrificed for her popularity; later, however, she heard that he and his father, whom she knew was his only family, had moved away.
The guilt of what she had done weighed on her mind for a long time afterwards. Linda ended up dumping Geoffrey in her freshman year of high school. From there until the day she graduated, she had myriad boyfriends, none of whom showed her the same compassion, courtesy, and loyalty that Nicholas had.
She moved on to UCLA, where she decided to major in Law. Spending four years there, she graduated near the top of her class, even though she spent her school days out with the wrong types of people--usually males--who were always out clubbing and drinking.
When she turned 21 and finished her final year of college, she decided that she wanted to continue pursuing law in graduate school. She searched around for different colleges and finally found a good one in PA, Penn State. Luckily for her, she applied Early Decision and made it into the school. Having never been so far away from her family, she was also very excited to be going to school on the east side of the States. (And while Linda has tried to forget what happened in her last year of middle school, somewhere deep in the back of her mind, Nicholas is still there.)
This is where her story begins.
Anything Else: Linda is only a minor character to Nicholas' plot. Most likely, she will only be written from Nicholas' POV.
